The Viking Way is a footpath stretching 149 miles through Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, covering varied landscapes and terrain. The path starts at the Humber Estuary in North Lincolnshire and takes walkers through the Lincolnshire Wolds, Lincoln and then south, skirting Sleaford and Grantham and finishing in Oakham. Visit Lincolnshire needed a promotional film that would encourage walkers of all abilities to enjoy this breathtaking route.
The visual direction of the film required people to be seen in the environment with an emphasis on beauty and variety of the landscape. Over the 4 days of filming, each location provided new and exciting surroundings to work with, from soaring past trees to reveal a ruined abbey to flying over our walkers on a bridge, showing off the vista of the canal route ahead. It was easy to see why the locations were at the forefront of this story.
